Embodied, Inc. Selected to Join KidsX, the Largest Pediatric-Focused Digital Health Accelerator in the World

Revolutionary robot designed to help promote social,
emotional and cognitive learning for children joins inaugural KidsX cohort

Pasadena, CA (January 19, 2020) -- Embodied, Inc is pleased to join the inaugural cohort for KidsX, an international consortium of pediatric hospitals focused on improving digital health innovation through collaboration. Founded by Paolo Pirjanian, Embodied will soon release Moxie, its first product to market. Moxie is an adorable robot with machine learning technology that is designed to help promote social, emotional and cognitive development in children through everyday play-based learning and captivating content. Through KidsX, Embodied will partner with leading healthcare organizations to take part in a 13-week virtual program to determine Moxie’s efficacy within the pediatric healthcare space.

KidsX was designed by the Innovation Studio at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to partner talented and promising early stage digital health companies like Embodied with clinical and administrative leaders at leading pediatric hospitals located in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia and Israel. The goal is to build, test and deploy software solutions to make pediatric care exceptionally effective, safe, efficient and convenient for children and families.

“Pediatric patients make up 20 percent of the national patient population, and yet the pediatric health care arena is often overlooked as an opportunity forinnovation,” says Lara Khouri, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “By directly collaborating with the world-class children’s hospitals in the KidsX network, companies will be able to validate product and market fit in pediatrics more quickly, saving valuable time and resources and bringing much-needed digital health tools to patient families faster than ever before.”

With pediatric patients limited in visitors due COVID-19 safety measures, Moxie offers a fun, safe and engaging animate companion for these children that is specifically designed to help promote social, emotional and cognitive development which might have been put on pause due to hospitalization. Embodied assembled a world class team of experts in child development, engineering, technology, game design, and entertainment to create Moxie, but this accelerator marks the first time Moxie will be tested within a hospital setting.

“It’s an honor for Embodied to be selected out of over 300 qualified applications to work with KidsX’ 51 member organizations located across the globe,” said Paolo Pirjanian, CEO and Founder of Embodied, Inc. “We’re excited to test Moxie within the pediatric healthcare space and look forward to analyzing the results after completing the 13-week Accelerator program.”

Throughout the accelerator, Embodied will trial Moxie within pediatric healthcare in the hopes of validating clinical efficacy. After the program, Embodied plans to develop more permanent partnerships with leading pediatric hospitals and ultimately, have Moxie as a permanent fixture in these spaces.
